Iranian develops liquorice anti-pigmentation lotion

TEHRAN, Oct. 28 (MNA) – An Iranian scientist has developed a lotion from liquorice that can prevent skin pigmentation disorders.

Pejman Pourmohammadi, the executive of the project of liquorice anti-pigmentation cream said, “human skin is daily exposed to a variety of environmental damage such as air pollution and the harmful rays of the sun which cause blemishes to appear on the skin.”

“When the skin cells become damaged, it produces too much melanin which causes the skin to get darker,” he explained, “a special enzyme in liquorice cream affects the production of pigments and so prevents blemishes to break out on the skin.”

He noted that this cream has no side effect and can be safely used by pregnant women. It has also physical sunscreen properties as opposed to chemical and this property can easily ward off harmful sun rays.

“This is a daytime under makeup moisture cream that has special properties such as an anti-blemish, whitening, sunscreen and anti-inflammatory features,” he said.
